fiOLL OF HONOUR UNVEILED A very successful function, which was largely attended, took place at the No. 2 School, Alfrwknv recently, the occasion being the unveiling of a Roll of Honour. The Hun. J G Garland, Mr H 8 King, members of the Auckland Board of Education, were among those present. The latter expressed pleasure at being present, renewing old acquam'ar.cas, stating that some ye.»rs ago be hud resided in the neighbor hood, .only a few ebains from the school. Garland in a very able address, unveiled the Roll of Honour and enlarged upon the words, honour, justice, and duty, ani gave a fine object le sm to the children on th* colours of the Union Jack.
The work of providing the Roll of Honour was done by tbe Old Girls of the school, to whc m the gredW credit is due. especially to Mrs H. Chandler, and the Misses 8. M and M. Wedding, who made all the financial arrangements The roll itself, executed by Iff D M A Bodley, of Auckland, was a splenlid piece of workmanship, and reflected great credit on the maker, tbe H>n Garland remarking that "it was ju«t splendid." Tbe roll of honour will be an everlasting memoiial to the splendid miauer in which the Alfriston district responded to the call of King and Empire. It contains tie names of Name Marjorie Harrowell, Mr R, J. MooreJoues, a teacher, and" 25 old boy* of the t-chool
