BOLSHEVISM IN NEW ZEALAND.
! Much has appeared in the 1 daily papers regarding the spread of Bolshevik doctrines in other countries by the emissaries and agents of the Russian revolutionaries, but so far there has not appeared much evidence of any attempt to flood this country with propaganda of their pernicious doctrines. It appears that New Zealand is not to escape, however, for recently a pamphlet which is from beginning to end a glowing panegyric upon the methods and manners of the Bolsheviks came into our hands. Bound in a cover of the blood-red which the revolutionaries adopt as a symbol of their tastes, and printed by the "Reliance Printer}'" in Albert Street. Auckland, the little brochure is, wo are told on the title page, obtainable from a gentleman of the delectable name of Leo Boranoff, who gives his address at a post office box. During the war period we had a tolerably active censorship of literature printed outside the Dominion, and it would appear that now a censorship of the stuff printed in the country is required. To attempt by false but glowing descriptions of what Bolshevism lias done in Russia to work upon iho emotions of the ignorant and ill-balanced is a serious offence, and should be sternly discourage;!. The gentle aliens in our mid.st trade upon our well-known weakness for always treating foreigners with more consideration and leniency than wo do our own people, but it is time tor us to wake up to the clanger of allowing these gentry to stir nj) revolt against any form of settled and responsible government by taking advantage of the extended powers we now possess and immediately deporting them.
