Parker-Walker (Contributed j A very interesting and pretty wedding was celebrated on the 26 th November, in the " Village Kirk " by the Eev. F. Hales, the principals being Miss M. Ethel Walker, daughter of Mr James Walker, J.P., of'' Kelvin Grove " Papakura, and Mr Frank Parker, son of Mr W- J. Parker, of Remuera. The church was prettily decorated, and appropri • ate music was rendered at the ceremony, a record number assembled on the occasion. The bridesmaid was Miss Jessie Walker, and the groomsman Mr Oscar Parker. After the ceremony the wedding party repaired to " Kelvin Grove," where high festival was held, the principal speakers being the Revs. Hales and Wood and Messrs Holt and Luke. Right royally were the honours done on all sides at the breakfast, after which, and while waiting for the ball, various parties strolled round the property. Thence to the residence to inspect the presents, which were numerous and valuable, and to say adieu to the young couple The bride was most charmingly dressed in a beautiful brown costume. The ball was a great feature at which some 40 couples were kept well supplied with good music (Hawthorn) and dancing. The entertaining by the hostess and host was all that could be desired, in fact one would think it was almost a weekly occurrence, certainly it took more attention than any wedding that has been here for two decades.
