MANUREWA
Members of the Toung Helpers League (Dr Barnardo Homes) some 40 pupils attending the Public School, hold their annual picnic and Box Opening Ceremony at W. T. Oox's bush on Friday afternoon next. Mrs Cox the President with other Manurewa ladies assisting are making provision for the children and local subscribers to this very fine charitable institution.
The new railway service promised is a decided acquisition. The train leaving the city about 7 pm. breaks the very long interval between the 517 and 9.45 p.m. trains. The Sunday trains will bd welcomed by the city folf anxious to get a run into the country, even more so than the suburban residents desirous of visiting the city. Again there is the matter of the city's milk supply for the city folk to be short of a milk supply all through last winter whilst the farmers in this district were separating, for want of transit, was not good business for either town or country. [There will be a big budget of Manurewa news on Friday. —Ed.]
