LICENSING COMMITTEE
Quarterly Meeting The quarterly meeting of the Franklin Licensing Committee, was held on Thursday at noon. Present: Messrs F. K. Hunt 8 M. (chairman), W. Claud Motion, C. Roadley, and Sergeant Cowan (clerk) TRANSFER An application was made by John Rennio Fraser for the transfer of his license of the Globe Hotel, Papakura, to Theodore Frederick Hodges. The request was granted. ADULTERATED LIQUOR In reply to the Committee's letter of Septemter 30th with regard to Adulterated Liquor, the District Health Officer wrote asking if the Committee would furnish him with the names of any places where adulterated liquor was sold in the Franklin district. He pointed out that they did not decline to take necessary action, and on receipt of the information, he would have samples taken. In reply thereto the clerk forwarded the names of three hotels, and the District Health Officer intimated that orders hud been given for samples to be taken from the places mentioned. Sergeant Cowan said the samples had been taken The chairman said he had received information that liquor was being sold after six o'clock. Sergeant Cowan said he had received no complaints. The chairman said if anyone knew of liquor being sold after hours they should inform the police.
