MANUREWA FLOWER SHOW

An Unqualified Success

The spring Flower Show, held under tho auspices of the Manurewa Show Socioty, took place in the Public Hall on Saturday last. There was a large attendance, visitors hailing from all parts of the district. The entries were large, numbering over 500, which constitutes a record. The quality of the exhibits exceeded that of previous years, and reveals tne fact that Manurewa people are well to the fore in the art of flower growing. The Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. W. F. Massey, was unable, owing to his Parliamentary duties, to be present, and forwarded an apology. The Deputy Mayor of Auckland, Mr A. J. Entrican, in declaring the show open, congratulated the promoters on the fine exhibition of flowers presented He also congratulated the fair sex on the quality of their cooking. The secretary, Mr H. V. Burton, and his energetic committee are to be congratulated on the success of the show, as one and all worked assiduously. The awards are as follows:
