Papakura Request Not Acceded To S. p.a time ago the Town Board applied for ")00 h.p. for power and lighting purposes from the Hora Hoi... electric power scheme. In rep y to the Board's application, the U-Jer Secretary of the Public Department advised that owing to the limited power available at present, it would not be possible to supply the Board's demand from the existing installation at Hora Hora. He added that steps were being taken to construct a scheme to give a general supply of power throughout the Auckland district, but it was impossible to give a definite date when such power would be available.-Received. The acting chairman reported having attended the meeting of delegates at Pukokoho, with reference to the proposed oloctric lighting scheme. He gave a resume of what transpired, and stated that he did not lead the mooting to believe, as reported in tho Times, that Papakura had an electric lighting scheme whereby the whole of the Franklin County could be servod. Papakura had no such scheme. He asked the Times representative to have the mattor corrected. Maybe wo misunderstood Dr Brookfield, but, if so, we are not the only ones present who took a different meaning from his remarks than that which he intended to convey.—Ed. F. and P. Times. .
