Executive Meeting - , The executive of the Franklin A. and P. Society met on Friday night. Present: Messrs J. N. Massey (president), Dynes Fulton, James Roulston, Joseph Reynolds, W. Moore, S. Shippherd, F. Shippherd, J. Hodgson Keith, A. P. Daysh, F. J. Morran, H. Stuart, C. McCormick, James Wylie, and D. R Hamilton (secretary). Mr A. W. Grean, Hamilton, advised that at a meeting' of the Council of the New Zealand Milking Shorthorn Association, £■) was alloted to the Franklin A. and P. Society, for the milking shorthorn classes, at tho forthcoming Show. Receivod, and to he thanked for donation. The Education Board intimated that it would donate £2 2s towards the prize fund at the next A. and P. Show, and also forwarded suggestions for alterations in the schedule for the school classes. One of the suggestions was that, instead of a map of New Zealand, that the map should he of the Waikato River, and the Manukau and Waitemata harbours, showing proposed canal communications at Waiuku, Whau and Tamaki. A letter of thanks to be forwarded, and the suggestions aud alterations to tho schedule, were referred to the Schedule Committee. CATTLE SUBWAY Messrs Fulton, Wylie, and secretary were appointed delegates to waif on the Prime Minister, when be : visits the district, with regard to the

proposed cattle subway, It was also decided to arrange for delegates from the Borough and County Councils, school committee, and Chamber of Commerce, to attend FINANCE The secretary reported that the last balance sheet of uncollected members subs represented £'242 and uncollected donations £l4O. Since May 31st last £25 has been j paid in members' subs , leaving £217 uncollected and £7O has been paid in donations, leaving £7O uncollected. The expenses in interest and salaries, otc., for the next four months would amount to about £l2O and unless some of the back subscriptions are paid up this will have to be met by an increase of the overdraft and aa extra expense in tho way of interest. The report was received. WINTER SIIOW Messrs J. Roulston, J. Wylie, F. Ballard, D. Fulton and Joseph Reynolds were appointed a committee to make arrangements for the Winter Show, with discretionary powers NEW MEMREUS The following new members were elected Messrs Roy Schafield, Geo. Roulston, F. Perkins, and the secretary were appointed a canvassing committee, for donations. The secretary reported on the recent A. and P. Conference at Wellington. with regard to a remit, that the Railway Department be urged to introduce excursion rates, and that the freight for the carriage of stock to the various shows, be on the same rates as before the war, Mr Hamilton said the remit was carried unanimously, and it was decided on the Motion of Mr J. Wylie to write the Minister for Railways, asking that the remit, as passed by the Conference, be acceded to.
