PAERATA
RAILWAY GOODS BHED OPENED A very successful social aad dance, arranged by the railway staff, was held on Saturday, November Ist to celebrate the opening of new goods shed at Paerata. The occasion was Unique, in that this was the first event of the kind held in Paerata, and Mr John Bohlaepfer in a very appropriate speech, traced the history of events, which culminated in the erection of the goods shed, and bestowed great praise on those responsible for arranging the entertainment and the beautiful decorations. All present spent a thoroughly enjoyable evening, and did ample justice to the good supper provided. Ureat credit is due to the railway staff, and the host of workers who assisted, also to Miss E Diamond (pianist), Miss Crook and Miss Alice Stewart, Messrs. H Goldrr, S. Diamond, W. Alderton for items, and Messrs Diamond and Jamieson for 1 »anof flags and piano, respectfully. Mr W. Stewart, junior, pei formed the duties of M.C. efficiently. The function terminated at midnight with the singing of Auld Lr»ng Syne.
