A new contrivance, which has been introduced for motor cars with a view to making travelling safer for both pedestrians and vehicles, is depicted in this picture. It consists of a metal box fixed at the back of motor cars, with a coloured glass front containing the worda "Slow" and "Stop," also two arrows m. STOP) m which point in the direction the ear ia about to turn. When the car ia going to atand still, the driver, by applying the foot brake or dutch illuminates the word "Stop," thus informing the drivers of the vehicles I>eJiind that the car ia going to stop, or if the driver ia slowing down tbe word "Slow" appeara.
