Mr C. Monty Wright is at present seriously indisposed, and his condition is causing his relatives and friends grave anxiety. On Wednesday last Miss Voilet H. Webster, of Pukekohe, was presented with the Order of the British Empire badge, at an investiture at which the Governor General, the Earl of Liverpool, presented a number of badges of the 0.8.E to Auckland residents, at Government House, in recognition of the recipients' patriotic service.
Mr W. Y. Kirkman, who until recently has been manager of the Pukekohe Dairy Factory, left Pukekohe to reside in Hamilton last week For the past eighteen months Mr Kirkman has been attached to the head office of the New Zealand Dairy Association in Auckland, latterly as acting assistant manager. As part of the Amalgamation scheme, the Auckland office has been closed down, and Hamilton is now the headquarters of the new company Mr Kirkman transfers to Hamilton as superintendent of all butter and cheese factories in the new company. Mr A. M. Stirling, who succeeds Mr Kirkman as factory manager at Pukekohe, is now in residence, though actually taking over the management of the factory as from July last.
