A meeting of the Auckland branch of the Jersey Breeders' Association will be held in the A. a'A P. Association olfice next Satuiday, at 1.30, While road repairs are in progress the level crossing on the Waiuku road over the railway south of Drury will be closed. The triennial visitation of Pukekohe Presbyterian parish will be held in St James' church on Thursday evening The visiting ministers will be Rev. 0. Porter, and Rev. D. D. Scott, with elders. A summary of the benefits provided for discharged soldiers and •oldiers' widows is published in our advertising columns, together with information as to whom application may be made In addition to the new technical high school for which tenders have boon called (plans and specifications at the Post Offioe}, no less than six houses arn being or to be built in Pukekohe shortly. Two of these are to the order of Mr F. Perkins for tenants. One of the front rank local concerts ot the year, the Convert School Concert, will be held in the Premier Hall on Thursday, when an excellent programme, by well trained pupils, will be rendered.
The Globe Hotel, Papakura, is at present beintr renovated, and not before time. When completed, the building will present an attractive appearance both internally and externally.

A forward 'l'ovomont is being made by the l'apakura T .wn Board, as witness notices in this issue announcing its intention to take a poll on proposals to raiso a loan of £4500 for streets improvement and £2OOO for the purchase of 'a park and recreation ground.
