A. AND P. CONFERENCE Franklin Discussion At a general meeting of the Franklin Agricultural and Pastural Society held on Thursday, the secretary, Mr D. R. Hamilton, reported on the conference of A. and P. Societies which he atttended at Auckland on September 26th as local delegate. At that conference it was a recommendation to societies to make a uniform charge at the entrance gates of Is 6d for adults, and 6d for children, under 12 years of age.— Mr J. K. Hamilton moved that this be adopted Mr J. Wylie seconded, and said that the cost of running a show was increasing annually, and the gate charges were not boing increased accordingly. They had to increase the gate charges for selfpreservation Tho motion was carried. Mr Hamilton, continuing, said remits from the Waikato'Central A. and P. Association, as follow." were adopted "That the matter* of uniformity in the distribution of com'plimentary luncheon tickets be considered. At the conference it was decided that complimentary luncheon tickets be only issued to judges and officials. On the motion of Messrs Sim, and Jamieson, the matter was referred to the executive to deal with. A recommendation that for societies holding two or more days' show in the year, the subscription be fixed at £1 Is. Referred to the executive committee to deal with. The recommendations, that uniform charges of Is for vohicles to show grounds and uniformity in the charges for implements, stands and sideshows' space, the minimum of which was fixed at £1 were adopted.
In our report of the Franklin A. and P. Society's meeting regarding the Winter Show proposal a portion was inadvertently omittted. After the Prime Minister's letter, the report of the sub-committee on the matter was read, and Mr J. Roul.ston moved, that the meeting affirm the principal of holding a Winter Show.
