PAPAKURA.
FOBGERY AND THEFL YOUNG MAN ON PROBATION A young man, Stanley Brown, of Papakura (Mr A. J. Moody), who had pleaded guilty to charges of forgery and theft at Papakura, appeared on remand at the Auckland Supreme Cou>t on Saturday before His Honor, Mr Justice Cooper. Mr Moody applied for probation, as he understood the probation officer's report was favourable. An uncle of the prisoner wis willing to provide him with work on a farm, and his father had offered to make restltu ion on his behalf. His Honour said that on tl e e conditions he would admit the prisoner to strict probation for three years. The prisoner would be ordered to refund the money to his father out of his earnings during the probation period.
