PUKEKOHE EAST
SUCCESSFUL CONCERT. A very successful concert in aid of Church Organ Fund was held in the Pukekohe East, Public Hall, last Friday evening (September sth). Mr Thos. Hamilton presided. Choruses were pleasingly rendered by the young ladies and the school boys and girls; song by Mrs Keane, Misses Foulkes, and Mr King; cornet solo, Mr A Kamsay ; pianoforte solo, Miss Robinson; recitations, Misses Olwyn Hamilton, Eva Morgan, Gladys Beer, and Masters Trevor Ma honey and Keith Hamilton ; poi dance, Mrs Motu and company. At the conclusion Mr A C Beer on behalf of the audience thanked the performers for the splendid programme rendered. Great credit is aue to the young ladies of the district who worked so hard to make the event the success it was, and they have already been asked to repeat the programme in two adjoining districts. FARMERS' UNION. Af the last montlly meeting of the local branch of the Farmer's Union Mr Dewis Morgan wns elected secretary in place of Mr J. Vv*. Robinson who has left the district. Mr Thos Hamilton was elected president, in place of Mr Morgan who resigned on being elected secretary. LAND SALES. As the result of the recent land boom fourteen farms in this district have changed ownership during the last six months. Three have been bought by returned soldiers, and two by adjoining owners.
