TUAKAU
FOOTBALLERS' SOCIAL. The Footballers' Social was held in the Tuakau Hall on Wednesday, Sept 10th. There was a laage attendance despite the bad weather. The hall was tastefully decorated and a very enjoyable evening spent. Mr. D. Fulton, president of the club, presented the banner donated to the club by Mr Fitzpatrick, also two nice cups presented by Mr W. Young, to Les Cathcart (junior), and I. Pivott (senior) for best players for the season in each team. During the evening songs were rendered by Mesdames Taylor and Tapper, the Misses Short and Otto and Messrs Somerville and Wilson, and Mr G. R. Smith gave a violin solo which met with loud applause. The dance music was provided free of charge by Mrs Fitzpatrick (Piano), Mrs McCullough (violin) and Mr Hineman (cornet) and was of the best for which the club thank the players. Mr S. Conelly acted as M.C., a good supper was provided, and dancing kept up until the early hours of the morning.
