CLEVEDON.

ORANGE BLOSSOMS. McCRAE-ATKINS. A wedding which created a considerable amount of local interest was solemnised at All Souls' Church, Clevedon, on June 24th last, when Mr John Richard McCrae, son of Mr and Mrs John McCrae, of Auckland, was united in the holy bonds of wedlock, to Miss Gertrude Annie Atkins, daughter of Mr and Mrs George Atkins, of Clevedon. Rev. Wood was the officiating clergyman. The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in a satin frock trimmed with white doherty lace, she also wore the usual veil of net and orange blossoms. She was attended by her niece, Miss Hilda Atkins, as bridesmaid, who wore a pink gown with black effect, and a pink and black hat to match. Mr Alan McKerzie was best man After the ceremony a large number of guests were entertained at a sumptuous wedding breakfast, when the usual toasts were honoured. Mr and Mrs McCrae subsequently left for nelensville, thence to Rotorua, where the honeymoon was spent. The Church was beautifu'ly decorated by friends of the biide. Mrs Dennis presided at the organ. The death of an early colonist, Mrs J. McCormick, late of Clevedon, took place last week at the residence of her son-in-law, MY P. J. Fogarty, Brentwood Avenue, Mount Eden. Mrs McCormick, who was 78 years of age, name to New Zealand from Scotland with her late husband and family in the ship Viola, in ISfifi. Thoy resided at Papakura for a short time, and finally settled in Clevedon, living there until the death of Mr McCormick, nine years ago. Deceased is suivived by three sons and seven daughters, the daughters being Mrs P. J. Fogarty, Brentwood Avenue ; Mrs I). W. McDonald, Remuera; Mrs F. 0 Church, Onehunga; Mrs H. L. Patten, Birkenhead ; Mrs R. Kemp, Papatoatoe; Mrs T. Jackson and Mrs T. Cossey, of Woodville. The sons are Captain J. McCormick, Auckland ; Mr W. McCormick, King Country ; and Mr C. McCormick, Hikuai. There are also 19 grandchildren and five great grandobildren.
