Treanor-Bilkey
Unquestionably the prettiest wedding eyer solemnised in Pukekohe, j took place at St. Andrews' Church 1 on July 19th, when Lieut. Francis James Treanor R.N.V.R, son of Mrs and the late Mr Jamis Treanor, of Ponsonby was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to Miss Gwenefer Beatrice Bilkev, daughter of Mr and Mrs Robert Bilkey of Pukekohe. Rev. J. P. Cowie was the officiating clergyman. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in an ivory satin frock, trimmed in gold tissue, with train, while she also wore the customary veil and wreath of orange blossoms She was attended by Misses Hilda Ballard, (friend of the bride), and Triss Bilkey, only sister, as bridesmaids, while little Joan Atkinson acted as train bearer. Miss Ballard wore vieux rose crepe de | chine with biscuit georgette yoke and sleeves. Miss Triss Bilkey was attired in a pale green crepe de chine garment, with biscuit georgette yoke and sleeves, while little Joan Atkinson wore creme over white satin, finished with pale pink rosebuds an d French dots. The bridesmaids wore black panne velvet hats and the trnin bearer a white satin trimmed with pink rosebuds. Lieut. Harold Qeraus R N.Y.R. of Auckland was best man while Trooper Montie Bilkey, brother of the bride, was groomsman. The bridegroom and best man wore naval uniforms and the groomsman a soldier's uniform. After the ceremony over 100 guests parto )k of a sumptuous wedding breakfast at the Carnival tearooms. Subsequently Mr and Mrs Treanor departed f. >r Auckland en route to Wellington where the honeymoon is being spent, The wedding presents were costly and numerous, which testified to the esteem aud popularity in which the bride waa held. Ia the evening an impromptu dance was held in the Carnival tearooms where a large number of friends spent a most enjoyable time.
