FRANKLIN A. & P. SOCIETY.
General Committee. A meeting of the general committee of the Franklin A and P. Bociety was held in the Society's office on Friday, when the President, Mr J. N. Massey, presided over a fair attendance.
Mr W. J. Cole, formerly of Tuakau, but now of Auckland, tendered his resignation as a member of the Society.—Accepted with regret. With regard to tho Winter Show proposal, discussed at the annual meeting with a strong mandate to the executive that the advisability of holding a Winter Show at Pukekohe be considered, the President moved that a sub-committee consisting of Messrs Jas. Roulston (chairman), E. Allan, F. Perkins, F. Ballard, Jas. Wylie and Dynes Fulton consider the advisability of holding a show, as proposed, and report at a future meeting of the Executive.—Mr L. Allen seconded the motion, which was carried. The ex-president, Mr Dynes Fulton, raid he thought that the Committee should report to the Executive, and if the latter adopted the proposal he thought it advisable to put the matter before the general committee. He moved to this effect and stated that it may not be possible to obtain a full meeting of the Executive and if the matter was considered by a quorum of five and three were for it and two against, the majority would not be very great, whereas if a general committee meetmg was call' -1 the decision of the q mrum number of twelve would be more favourable. Mr J. lioulaton concurred, seconded the motion, which was carried. The President, Treasurer and Secretary were empowered to sign cheques. It was decided that the Executive meet in the afternoon instead of at night during tfie winter months— August, September an,4 October —at 2 pm.
