PERSONAL

The Kev R. F. Jeffreys, of the Auckland Social Association, will preach in St. Jamas' Church, Pukekohe, on Sunday, July 20' h Mr J F. McArtlmr, County Engineer, who has been seriously indisposed, has now taken a turn towards the road to recovery.

MrR. Elliott, shunter at the local Railway Station, who recently underwent an operation for appendicitis, is progressing satisfactorily and expects to leave the hospital shortly. Mrs Martin, wife of Rev. J. F Martin, who recently underwent an operation, is making satisfactory progress towards recovery. It is expected Mrs Martin will return home about next week.

We understand that Mr Stanley Fitness, who has sustained a fractured leg during the progress of the Pukekohe v. Waiuku football match, and who was subsequently admitted to an Auckland private hospital, is progressing as well as can be expected. Cr A P. Daysh is at present indisposed, and his condition may not allow him to take part at the Peace celebration sports. Mr Daysh was secretary of the sports committee, but owing to his indisposition, Mr D. R. Hamilton will officiate in bis stead.
