MANUKAU COUNTY COUNCIL.

Monthly Meeting. The monthly meeting of the Mannkau County Council was held at Qleeson's buildings, Auckland, on Tuesday, when there were present —Cra A. D. Bell (Chairman), F. H. Brownhill, D. A. Beid, 3. Luke, F. 11. Waters, and S. W. House, together with the Clerk (Mr A. Bell), and the Engineer (Mr W. Lopdell).

MANGBRE MERGING.' The question of merging the Mangere Koad Board into the County was discussed in committee, and, after lengthy consideration, a special order was passed, providing fur the merging of theMangere Bpad district. The matter had been in abeyance for some considerable time, and the step was described by Councillors as in the best interests of the district ROAD DIDICATED.

The Council's solicitors forwarded a form of dedication (tor the Council's consent) of Hill ioad, through Puriri Park estate, Manurewa, to be dedicated as a public road. On the motion of Or Beid, seconded by Cr Luke, it was agreed to affix the common seal of the Council thereto. With regard to the gates on this road, Cr Luke moved, and Cr Howse seconded, that the directors of the estate be written to, requesting the removal of the gates.

NEW NAME WANTED,

Mrs A. M. Cabat, Papatoetoe, requested the Council to re-name the road now known aa O'flara road, and suggested the rame of one of the generals as appropriate. On the motion of Cr Waters, it was decided to reply stating that the matter would receive consideration. MANUREWA QUERY.

The Manurewa Town Board wrote requesting the Council to give them an idea as to the present value of pitches for crossings, plus railage of 13 miles.

The letter was merely " received," as the Council had no idea of the value of the pitches.
