Gwyn meets Von Bleck and accuses him of murder and argon and forces him to admit that Cut Deep has the ether half of the chart. He starts after Cut Deep leaving Nan to guard Von Bleck. Nan and Gwyn then set out for the mine over a wild trail and Nan falls into a mountain torrent and is being swept away when Gwyn leaps in after her.
