WEDDING BELLS

DRUMMOND-MEIKLE A pretty wedding was celebrated at St. James' Church on Wednesday, the contracting parties being Mr James Drummond, son of Mr and Mrs Drummond of Pollock, and Miss Agnes Meikle, daughter of Mr and Mrs Meikle, of Pollok. The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in a becoming costume of nigger-brown garbadine, with hat to match. The bridesmaid, Miss Mary Meikle, sister of the bride, was dressed in white silk, overskirt trimmed with lace. Mr T. Meikle, brother of the bride, acted as best man. After the ceremony the party repaired to the Carnival Tea Rooms, where a sumptious repast, at daintily decorated tables, was partaken of. Tho wedding cake was supplied by Messrs V. Perkins and Co., and was a sploudid specimen of the caterer's art, being a three tier production, with four silvered pillars, surmounted by a bouquet of llowers. Incidentally, a graceful acknowledgment of the excellence of the repast was made by the bride, who asked tho proprietors of the tea rooms to accept half of the cake, by way of a ppreciation
