DAIRY AMALGAMATION

Sit;,— Thanking you for space to comment on your report of the above meeting, held on the 10 th inst and published in your issue of the 23rd May, 1019. In that report I am made to appear ridiculous I contend that it is quite unfair and unjust to misrepresent statements made at public meetings lam reported to have said, " The prospects of amalgamation were certainly good,'' aud further on in the report I am credited with saying " that the amalgamation scheme was a good one.'" Now both of these statements are contortions of what was actually said. In the first place we had before us only outlines of several speakers. No proof by way of documentary evidence was produced I have the assurance of those who were present that ray remarks were to the point and quite in order and from my own knowledge, the part I took in the meeting was one which I knew to be ijuito correct, and in order and stood tho test by having the support of a great number presnut at that meeting.—l am, etc. A. PARK HORNE Buckland, May 20, 1919
