HOUSEHOLDERS' MEETING

The meeting of householders in connexion with electing a school committee for the forthcoming year took place on Monday night, in th» new school. There was a fair num her present, and in the absence of the chairman (Mr J.' Hunter) the chair was taken by Mr C. Whitmore. The balance sheet for the year was read and adopted, which disclosed a satisfactory record of tho year's work. The headmas'er's report was alfto submitted, showing amongst other items of interest, that the number on the roll stands at present at ">2O The question of additional accommodation for the pupils was intn dueed by the headmaster, who stated that the conditions under which work was carried out in the old building was impairing tho health of some of the teachers. A resolution, urging upon the Hoard the necessity of completing the new school as originally designed, was passed
