RAWEI.
Kawei, the gifted native Tahitian, will present his novel and unique entertainment, descriptive of South Sea Island native life and custom, at the Premier Hall, Pukekohe, on Friday night, and, judging from the public mterest in his visit to Waiuku, the seating capacity of the ball should be taxed to its utmost extent. In describing Tahiti and its picturesque people, Rawei has, of course, the inspiration of a romantic theme, for he can claim kinship with a long line of famous warriors, and has lived most of his life among Island races But, apart from this, he is said to be unusually talented, and exhibits in his recital the most remarkable oratorical and musical gifts wit, pathos, mimicry, with humourous and pathetic thasacter sketches. Masterpiece?, in tne way of mental photography, are cleverly introduced, and rivet the attention from beginning to end.
