The Oiahuhu Sports dub's gather lag, which was to have been held to morrow, has been postponed until Saturday, April sth, owing to the committee having secured a more mutable ground, which is now being prepared for the meeting. A meeting in support of the prohibition movement was held in the Otahuhu Public Hall on Monday evening last when Mr J. J. Franklin, of Auckland, deli/ered an address J? 1 ? W a V lar * e attendance, over which Mr F. Souster presided. Mr Franklin d*alt at length with the evils of the liquor traffic and the advantages to be gained by the abolition of liquor in New Zealand Numerous questions having been asked and answered, Mr Franklin was accorded on the motion of Bev J. a. Boberts, seconded by Mrs Bamshaw, a vote of thanks for his discourse. Particulars of the Borough Coun cil s arrangements for " cleining-up » week, to be observed in Otahuhu from Monday next until Monday, the 31st instant, are advertised in this issue The Council are aiming at instituting precautionary measures against the recurrence of influenz* or other epidemics, and residents are requeued to aid in the procedure, by having all rubbish reAs will be seen by the advertisement, the operations will be conducted i n different ta f borough on special days
