(To the Editor; Sir,—ln your last issue Mr C. K. Lawrie announces his candidature for the position of mayor for Puke kohe Borougfk but he propounds no policy. Considering the present municipal conditions, finance and general, with continuelly increasing rating, it is time ratepayers insisted before pledging their votes that all candidates for election should publish a policy and should bind themselves to conduct the people's business in " open Council " only—not in the seoret hole and corner manner at present existing.— Tours etc, 0.
