Ladies and Gentlemen, Are you content to allow th< affairs of the Borough to continue t< be conducted in the existing hap huzard style and without knowledg< being communicated to you of th( state of the Council's finances ?
The Council ii at the present time saddled with an overdraft at the bank practically up to its limit. They have also spent all the loan money borrowed and works are now almost at a stand-still owing to shortage of funds. You are kept in the dark as to how the loan money has been spent, yo look in vain for some improvement that has been cffec'efi by the outlay of the loan money, and yet the Council audaciously suggests asking the ratepayers for another loan. Do not be gulled ! You want a change in Council methods so that everything should be trdus&i tod opei.ly and above board. I intend to be a candidate for the Mayoralty at the app.oachiug election and, i; returned, T undertake to hide nothing from you but on the contrary I will keep you regularly informed as to the state -of the Council's financ°s, and will also inaugurate a policy of progress for your advantage. You:8 respectfully, 244 C K LAW PIE CHURCH SERVICES. Church of England Services SECOND SUNDAY IN LENT, MARCH (6th, 1919. J' St. Andrew's, Vuk^ffbhe. Holy Communion, 8 Holv Communion&rornWn, 11 am.
