PAPAKURA.

The Rev W. 0. Wood, Chairman of the Papakura Bchool Committee, at the invitation of the City Schools Committee, delivered addresses to the pupils of Nelson, Napier, and Beresford streets schools last Wednesday, on the occasion of the presentation of certificates for g>od attendance. In the evening the rev. gentleman was one of the speakers at a meeting of the People's Protection Society, and, whilst adrooatiug the necessity of better ings and more playground spiyfe being provided in tue City, he mentioned that the Papakura school had more playing area than the three Ci f y schools he had visited that day.
