Arrangements are now being made to legalise the road, and also for formatnn and fencing. , ballard's road, rama rama. At the last meeting of the Council the matter of deviating the present road was mentioned, and it was 1 decided that if Mr Ballard would pay the cost of legalisation the Council would take the necessary steps. Mr Ballard now agrees to this, provided the Council will put in the necessary : culverts, and make the road fit for traffic. I would suggest that this be done, as tho cost after the deviation has been taken would not be a big item. HAPPY VALLEY ROAD. A letter was received from Mr Geo. Ross asking that this road be formed After Inspection, in company with Cr Lockwood, we considered it necessary that the outfall creek should be cleared before the road was formed. This is a particularly wet piece of country, and without proper drainage it wculd mean a considerable expenditure to make a passable road for winter traffic. [ would recommend that settlers be given notice to clear the old creek-bed where it passes through their property. QI'IGLEY's ROAD, lIUNUA. * An application was received from Mr Kobert Patterson asking for a portion of this road leading t<£ his property to be formed and mettled. As this did not mean a larger expenditure, and with the constat of the riding member, a small contract was entered into with Mr Patterson for the work required to form an<TU metal the road.
