PUKEKAWA.
MR AND MRS RUSSELL FARE WELLED On Wednesday evening last a public farewell was tendered to Mr and Mrs Russell, of Pukekawa, who are leaving that district for Auckland. The function took the form of a social and a* the departing couple were very popular in the district, a large number of friends attended Motor cars from Tuakau contributed largely to the gathering whilst Onewhere and the surrounding districts were also well represented. During the evening Mr H. Hawke, on behalf of the district, wished Mr and Mrs Russell farewell and success in their new undertaking, also expressing the hope that they would continue to make friends in the future as rapidly as they had done in the past. Mr Russell replied by thanking all [iresrnt fo; the delightful evening that they had arranged on behalf of himself and Wife. The gathering terminated with 'he singing of "Au'd Lang Syne " and " They are Jolly Good Fellow V' a heaity vote of thanks also be accorded to the musicians, and to those who had arranged the social.
