A vote of sympathy vu passed with pll thoee who had suffered bereavement in the surrounding district, and it wss decided to record the Board'* appreciation of the servicee of all thoee who had rendered aaristance during the epidemic. WiK POLICY. In aooordance with notice of motion, the Chairman brought forward this matter, and a lengthy discussion resulted in a resolution being paaeed that the Board should take into consideration the question of a loan policy of say £SOO for roadiog purposes, the same to be put before the ratepayers in If aroh. SCHOOL HILLS 05 GREAT SOUTH ROAD The Chairman reported that he had interviewed the uounty Council on this matter, pointing out the urgent need of this work being undertaken. As a result an engineer had inspected the site and estimated the colt at £BOO, of which the Council wen to provide £4OO, the remainder to be obtained from the Government by way of a £ for £ aubaidy. vozioua WBEDB. It waa resolved that all ratepayers in the Board'a area ahould be notified to clear furxe and blackberry from the road fronting their property. LI9BSBT. It was decided that a subsidy for the Iferary be applied for, .*»V ./ CEOSBIKOS. J. It «Ml3iecided that where a crosmng into a property was required the Board would put in the pipes on the same being provided by the owner. STRAYING CATTLE. Mr Pdgler gave notice of motion that he would bring up at the next meeting a proposal for an electric light and power acheme. HILL ROAD DRAINAGE. The queation of the disposal of the' drainage from Hill road wm brought up, and it waa decided to obtain the opinion of the Board'a solicitors on the matter.. RAILWAY APPROACH. "" The Bailway Department harieg refused 'the Board'a application to hare the road at the atation gatea formed to the full width, it waa reported that ,the Board had applied to have a poet and plain wire 1 eno& erected along the footpath on tar, ' eaat aide from the atation road up to the gatea,' and the depreasion oft the opposite side filled in. OVXRHCAD BRIDGE Mr Bmith reported that the petition in the matter of the overhead bridge was completed* and had Iper handed on to the County Council/
