FRANKLIN A. AND P. SOCIETY
The monthly meeting of the Executive of the above Society was held on Oct. 13th, Mr A. P. Daysh being in the chair in the absence through illness of the President (Mr Dynes Fulton). A letter was received from Messrs Frank Perkins and Co. as agents for Messrs Sutton and Co., offering a silver cup for competition for the best six turnips grown from Sutton's seeds and the same was gladly accepted. „ „ „ The Secretary (Mr D. R. Hamilton) reported that the President had sent out a letter appealing to members of the Society to assist in increasing the membership, very many local farmers not being connected therewith. It was agreed to extend privileges to members in the way of allowing their children, up to 14 years of age, free admission to the shows. In the matter of the railway section leased by the Society it was resolved that an office for use by the Society should be erected thereon.
