OTAHUHU.
! The Bishop of Auckland (Dr. A. I W. Averill) delivered an eloquent sermon in the Holy Trinity Church, Otahuhu, on Sunday last to a crowded congregation. He urged the people to assist the Central Fund which has just been inaugurated. During the service special prayers were offered up for our Empire and our Allies and the National Anthem was sung at the close.
On Thursday last, the Otahuhu Girls' Gymnasium Club held a very enjoyable social evening in the Parish Hall, the proceeds of which are to go towards a toy stall in connection with a bazaar to be held shortly under the auspices of the Church of England. Dancing with vocal and musical items contributed largely to the success of the gathering.
As a refult of an " At Home " held in the Parish Hall under the auspices of the Otahuhu Ladies Patriotic League recently the League's funds were augmented to the extent of £4 1.55.
