BISHOP AVERILL'B VISIT. The Bishop of Auckland (Dr. Averill) visited Tuakau on Saturday and the parishioners of St. John's M •M il il nH irfl efl vm i fl siH Boy Scouts' Band was in attendance uuder Scoutmaster Barton and their excellent musical programme enlivened proceedings considerably. Afternoon tea, provided by the ladies, was duly appreciated. As a result of the gathering the Red Croi<s funds have been augmented to the extent of £2O. The Tuakau Executive Committee of the British Red Cross fund met on Monday of last week, Mr E. T. Frost presiding. It was reported that the district's effort to date had resulted in the very satisfactory amount of £lB6 lis 3d being raised while an amount of £2O was still outstanding. During the next week or so it is contemplated to hold various functions in connection with this worthy object and before the campaign is finally closed the amount now to the credit of the fund should be largely augmented.
