TUAKAU.
At the first meeting of the newly elected Tuakau Town Board recently Mr Dynes Fulton, who was reelected Chairman for th 9 ensuiDg term, cordially welcomed the new members of the Board, Messrs G 8. Lapwood and W. Gihb. Mr B. S Geraghty, on behalf of tho new members, cordially thankul the chairman for his kind re naiks of welcome and expressed the hope that the proceedings of the Board during the ensuing term would be characterised with harmony and good feeling and a continued effort to conserve the interests of the ratepayer as a whole The sad news has been received of the death in action of Pvt. Abraham Clark, son of Mr W. Clark, of Tuakau. The deceased soldier volunteered at Tuakau and left with one of the early Reinforcements. He saw a good deal of active service. He was about 21 years of age. The sympathy of a large circle of friends is extended to the bereaved family in their loss.
