The final returns for the recent Queen Carnival in Manakau County for the benefit of the Red Cross Fund are as follows: Area A : Clevedon £35.54 lis 3d, Papakura £1825, Alfristan £782, Manurewa £764, total £6925 lis 3d. Area B: Mangere £2OIB 12s 4d, Papatoetoe £1925, Tamaki £1145, total 5088 128 4d Area C: Westfield £1026, Oiahuhu £754, total £I7BO. Grand total for the County, £13,794 3s 7d. Area A thus won the contest and as Clevedon was the highest contributor of any the Clevedon Queen (Mi*s Elsie Dow) became Queen of Manakau.
