CHILDREN'S QUEEN CARNI VAL
The final results of the Children's Queen Carnival competitions concluded on Saturday, the 17 th inst. and proved a success beyond all expectations. Much enthusiasm had been shown by those responsible for the effort, especially the organiser (Miss Trimmer). In all, over £l5O was secured. The Queens nominated are little girls under 8 years of age and coronation crowning day, has been fixed for Friday next (August 30th) at 2 o'clock in the afternoon and again in the evening at 8 o'clock at the Ramarama Hall.
The following is the order in which the Queens stand, viz., Frances Newcombe (old gold), Pukekohe East School £59 6s Id, Mary West (pink) Ramarama store £52 fis lOd, Maitha Saddleton (blue), Ramarama school £39 3s. In conjunction with the above function a Paddy's Market to dispose of the thousand and one useful lines donated at the ladies' afternoons, besides pigs, poultry, produce, etc , from various sources, together with competitions, surprise packets, shooting gallery and sundry other attractions, will take place. Afternoon tea will be provided at nominal cost. No admission will be charged and all will be welcome. Parents are invited to take their children to see the coronation.
