ROLL OF HONOUR

CORPORAL M. W. SHEPHERD

Corporal Maurice Wyndham Shepherd, reported mortally wounded on July 18, in action in France, was the eldest surviving son of the late Major T. V. Shepherd, of Papakura. He left with his brother in the nineteenth reinforcements, and afterwards joined the Third New Zealand Rifle Brigade. Prior to enlisting he was a member of the College Rifles and was farming at Manawaru. His brother Tom, who was reported dangerously ill from wounds received two days previously, is now out of danger and improving. He was an old King's College boy and was also engaged in farming.
