TUAKAU.
Brought up at the Pukekohe Pilice Court last Monday before Messrs R. F Webster and Q. P. Ewing, J.P's, a man named Peter Glancey wa3, on a charge of vagrancy, sentenced to one month's imprisonment He had been wandering about Tuakau on a cadging expedition A young Maori, named Reti Matatahi, was arrested by CoHstables Taylor and Wolfendale at Tuakau ou Monday afternoon for the alleged theft of a heifer, valued at £lO, the property of another Maori, Taki by name. After it disappeared on the 3rd inst. the animal passed through various hands before being recovered and it is alleged that the accused originally sold it Matatahi was remanded " at the Pukekohe Police Court on Tuesday to appear before the Magistrate at Pukekohe next Thursday. A Red Cross fancy bazaar is to be held in the Tuakau hall on Friday and Saturday of next week. Many popular forms of amusement will be provided for the purpose of attracting good support.
