The Drury Red Cross concert reef ntly given by the St John's Sunday School children, aided by the J'.hn Bull Comedy Company, was a highly successful function, and the many items given by the children being greatly appreciated and evoking hearty plaudits. Several of the lit'ie ones were really first class in thair efforts. The spectacular part of the programme must have entailed a great deal of labour and thought and the Misses Hewlett deserve great credit for the manner in which the young performers acquitted themselves. It would be unwise to single out any of the children for special mention, since all did their bit so keenly and well. The John Bull Comedy Company held the stage in the second part of the programme and many songs and recitations were well rendered. A comedy entitled " A Daughter of Japan " wound up the evening's entertainment, the characters being taken by Messrs W. Sutherland, B. BremnerF. Churches, and Miss E. Churches, and caused considerable amusement. The entertainment was somewhat drawn out by " waits " between the items, a defect that is often in evidence at Drury gatherings and should bo : remedied.
