CLEVEDON. PATRIOTIC STOCK 8 ALE. CLEVEDON'S GOOD RESPONSE The thoroughness of purpose that is always characteristic of Clevedon in furtherance of any deserving cause was once again demonstrated on Monday last, when a gift stock sale in support of the Red Crow Fund was held in conjunction with Messrs. Alfred Buckland and Sons' usual bimonthly sale. The Show Ground was used for the occasion, over 100 head of cattle and some 250 sheep being donated. Mr. Campbell Mitchell was the auctioneer, and the offerings realised about £9OO, which sum goes to the credit of the Clevedon Queen in the Manukau Queen Carnival competition. Afternoon tea was served by the ladies at a small charge. Extreme enthusiasm characterised the proceedings. Why let your music books, pieces ete, remain untidy or torn when the same can be rebound or repaired at the "Timee" office. All branches of book-binding undertaken.
