The rainfall at Karaka for the half year ending .lune .'iOth last was 27.69 inches, rain falling on 92 days, and being distributed as follows: - January. 2.'17 in., 14 days; February. ,/i.VKiin., II days; March, 0.01 in.. 12 days; April, 4.lsin.. 15 days; May. 2.00 in.. 15 days; .lune. 8.1 Tin., 25 days. The half-yearly total is somewhat above the average, thi'iiirh it is more than Sin. less than the «111;1111i!y for the corresponding period last year. 101". however, was by a long way the wettest year on record, the total tall at Karaka being ti4.:i7in.
