ANNUAL MEETING The Annual Meeting of the Franklin A & F Society was held in the Masonic Hall, Fukekohe, last Wednesday afternoon, the President (Mr Dynes Fulton) being in the chair. REPORT AND RALANCE SHEET. In moving the adoption of the Annnal Report and Balance Sheet, which has already been published in these columns, the President paid a high tribute to the excellent work done by the various members of the Committee which had enabled the Society to improve its numerical and financial position. There was no reason, he said, why the Society should not he not only the best in the Auckland Province but in the Dominion (hear, hear) Mr E Allan expressed himself as more than pleased with the Executive who by their united action had re duced the bank overdraft from £1,200 to £BOO. Thanks, he said, were particularly due to Messrs J. Wylie and J. N. Massey for carrying out the calf gift scheme, thereby realizing the sum of £250. He felt sure the Executive would have the confidence and support of members throughout the whole district. The Report and Balance Sheet were then unanimously adopted. PREBIDENT RE-ELECTED. On the motion of Mr Massey Mr Dynes Fulton was unanimously reelected President. In returning thanks for his reelection Mr Fulton expressed the hope that the Society would in a very short time be free from debt. He asked that the members would stick to the Society so that could be accomplished during the year. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. All the other officers were reelected, including Messrs J N Massey and A P Daysh as Senior and Junior Vice-Presidents respectively. RAILWAY BEOTION. Mr Barter proposed that it should be recommended to the Committee that the railway section fronting Manukau Road, Pukekohe, held by the Society should be disposed of as it was not revenue producing. Mr D R Hamilton moved as an amendment that the section be retained for the purpose of building an office on it at some future date. After some discussion the amendment was carried by 14 votes to 6. BANK OVERDRAFT. With a view to freeing the Society from debt Mr Allen (Onewhero) offered to donate £5 provided 99 other members did the same. Other offers amounting to £3O were forthcoming in the room and hope was expressed that the Committee would endeavour to still further reduce the overdraft at an early date and contributions for this purpose will be gladly received by the Secretary, Mr J M Baxter. THE SECRETARY. Kindly reference was made to the va'ued services rendered to the Society by Mr and Mrs J M Baxter in the secret trial duties, and a hearty vote of thanks was accordel them, ALTERATION OF RULES. Prior to the Annual Meeting a Special General Meeting was held at which a motion, as proposed by Mr D R Hamilton, was adopted " that a General Committee of sixty should hi formed to elect from their number ai Executive Committee of twenty members including a Chairman "
