BUCKLAND.
At the meeting of the Buckland branch of the Women's Patriotic League, held on Thursday, 27th June, Mrs H. H. D. Wily presided, but owing to the boisterous weather there was only a fair attendance. The following knitted goods were handed in, viz : Socks, Mesdames McKean 5 pairs, Driver 3 pairs, Johnston 2 pairs, Misses Johnston 1 pair, Wilcox 2 pairs, Avery, McKean 1 pair each, Gwen Sweet 1 cap, Mrs Newton 1 scarf. Mrs Avery gave in the following Red Cross sewing, viz., Pyjamas, Mesdames Hill 4 pairs, E. Bilkey 3 pairs, Neale 3 pairs, Avery 2 pairs, Davy 1 pair, Miss Hay 3 pairs, Mrs Greenway 2 under-flannels. Wool money received for June was as follows: Mrs Gummer 10s, Mrs Davy ss, Mrs Sim 2s 6d, Mr Vodanovich 2s, together with 10s from Mrs N. Jameison for the Red Cross.
