DAIRY ASSOCIATION MEETINGS

Undrthe chairmanship of Mr W. i ■ Motion a meeting of suppliers of the N Z Dairy Association was held in the Aka Aba Public Hall yesterday morning Mr W. Y Kirkman addressed the meeting and reviewel the work of the past season and tho prospects for the future. The proposals with regard to the manufacture of casein mid dry milk was also dealt with and the latest information on tho?e subjec's wa9 outlined One special feature of the meeting was the large number of (h c esfl suppliers present. The question of the amalgamation of the Wrtikuto dairy iuterests was brought foiw-ird and »n tho propositi tn of Mr M Mclntyre it was resdve • that the directors of the Association rhould be asked to i> teiview representatives of other dairying oiganisilions with a view to such a propo al being uirried into effect. Mr fiowuen said that speaking unofficially as a director of the local cheete company he personally was in favour of an amalgamation of inteie-fs.

A similar meeting was also held by the Association at Otaua, Mr W. 0. Motion again presided. A resolution was lidoj ted that the Otaua suppliers pledge thfmselves not to combine with any other dairying organisations uutil they were acquainted with the result of the Association's proposal for amalgamation. At, Waiuku a well attended meeting of supplies was held last night. Messis. W. Y. Kirkman and M. Shaw the Association representatives were present and addressed the meeting reviewing the past season's work and the future prospects. Mr Shaw explained the manufacture of catein and also th%t of glaxo at the Matamata and Mafangi factories. He further referred to the benefits to be derived from amalgama'ion of dairying interests, and it was resolved that it be a ret ommendation to the Directors of the Ass; eiation to interview other dairyorganisations throughout the Waikato, with a view to a scheme being formulated for the amalgamation of ell the interests of dairy faimors throughout the South Auckland Province.
