MR AND MRS BLACK FAREWELLED
! Undeterred by the boisterous weather the residents of Puni tamed • tut in force last nigh*; in the Puni Hall for the purpose of bidding farewell to Mr and Mrs J. Black, who are leaving the district consequent on Mr Black being due to oater c .mp next month The building was filled to overfl jwing. At the request of Mr R. Fulton, \lr C. K Lawrie presented Mrs Black with a handsome gold bracelet iind Mr Black with a case of pipes, the .'-tine being the result of a local subscription. Mr Lawrie referred in appropriate terms to the high •espect in which Mr and Mrs Black ire held and wished the former a safe return from the battlefield. Mr Black modestly returned thanks. A most enjoyable evening was Hpent in dancing, vocal items also biitg rendered. Duripg the proceedings a tion was also made to Mr J. Roberts in recognition of his services as a at the various dances in Puni.
