BOROUGH OF OTAHUHU Public Notice is hereby given that, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by Sections 48 to 55 of "The Rating Act, 1908," Sections 78,98 and 95 of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908," and Section 51 of " The Municipal Corporations Act, 1913," and Section 41 of "The Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909," Section 60 of "The Public Health Act, 1908," Sections 20, 21, 22, of "The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1913," and "The New Zealand State Guaranteed Advances Act, 1909," and all amendments thereof respectively. and of every other power thereunto enabling it, it is the intention of the Otahuhu Borough Council, at a Special Meeting to be held in the Council Chambers, Great South Road, Otahuhu, on Thursday, the fourth day of July, 1918, at 7.30 p.m, to make and levy the following rates and fees for the year commencing on the Ist day of April, 1918, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1919, viz :- (1) A General Rate of One Penny and three farthings in the £. (2) A Hospital and Charitable Aid Rate of Five Sixteenths of a Penny inthePound(s/16d)inthe£. (V To collect a Special Interest Rate of One Penny and three-eighths (lHd)inthe£ to provide interest and Sinking Fund Charges on the following Special Loans: Water and Drainage Loans of £23,500, Great South Road Improvement Loan of £3,000, Offioe and Workshop Site Loan of £750, Mangere Bridge Loan of £750, Nightsoil Service Loan of £SOO. Water Rates and Charges (4) In respect of tbe Ordinary 3upply —Upon all lands and buildings to which water i* supplied (exceDting supplies by meter) a rate of a One Hundred and Forty Fourth of a Penny (l-144d) in the £, with a minimum charge of Ten Shillings (10/-) per annum. (5) Non-consumers Rate—Upon all lands and buildings to which water can be but is not supplied situate within one hundred yards from any part of the waterworks, a rate of a Two hundred and Eightv-eighth of a Penny (l-288d) in the i being one half of the above mentioned rate with a minimum charge of Five (5/-) per annum. (The Water Charges for Fitraoidinary Supply and Meter Rent are fixed by Seotions 426 to 430 of the By-law, No. 3 of the said Council). (6) A uniform Sanitation Fee of T we nty Shillings (20 •) per pan per house for sanitation purpcses for the year 1918-19 on all properties in the Borough outside the Drainage Area and served by the Nightsoil Service. All such rates to be upon the Unimproved value of all Rateable properties appearing on the Valuation Roll for the time being in force in the Borough of Otahuhu. The whole of the above Rates, Sanitation Fees, and charges will be due and payable in One Sum at the Office of the Town Clerk and Borough Collector, Great Soutk* Road, Otahuhu, on the 23rd day of July, 1918. The Estimates upon which the whole of tbe above Rates and Fees are beinT made and levied having been approved by the Council are, together with the Valuation Roll and Kate Book, open for inspecion at the Council Chambers, Chamber*, Great South Road, Otahuhu during office hours.
