Papakura Town Boundaries

[To the Editor"] Sir—He your sab-leader on above allow me to repeat what I have aaid before, that the " small knot" did not oppose the introduction of a sanitary service (or Papakura. They objected, and ftill feel an objection, to the site selected for the depot and the manner in which it was chosen. Later on, the parties unng the service complained about the manner in which the service was being carried out. After running for four months the service became ao unsatisfactory as to become unbearable and the contract was terminated, with the result that for eight months there has been practically no service. Tou tell 11s that the "small knot" is now obstructing the progress of the town by objecting to the extension of the town boundaries. This, again, is contrary to fact. The truth is that the ratepayers wish to have the extensions made consistently and complete and have moved to have this done. The ratepayers wish to bring in as much suitable land as possible and do away with as much dual control roading as possible. Can you tell me, Mr Editor, whv land about half a mile from the railway station—already subdivided and partly sold as building lotswhere the land on the other side of the road is already in the Town area, should be left out whilst farm lands about two miles away are brought in''

It is quite evident, Mr Editor, that you do not know the facta or else that you can sea no mistake possible by the present Town Board I am quite sure that if a plan of the alterations as proposed by the Board and one as pro; .sed by the rate payers were placed before any body of open minded men the unanimous opinion would be that the Board's proposal is the wrong one. Even you, Mr Editor, would admit that. As to your remarks on the finance of the Board, I can assure you that the ratepayers know what value they are getting for their rates, and what amount of work has been done by the present Board.—Tours, etc. B. W. MEARS, Hon Secretary, Papakura Ratepayers' Aasn.
